What is THC ?

First isolated by a group of Italian researchers in 2020, it is a potent psychoactive cannabinoid and hexyl homologue of delta 9 THC. It was discovered by the same researchers who identified THCP (in the same marijuana strain). Both of these compounds are rare, but they are likely capable of powerful intoxicating effects.

Natural Availability of THCH in Cannabis

In terms of its natural availability in cannabis, this potent is extremely limited. It is even rarer than other cannabinoid tracers such as HHC or delta 10 THC. Naturally occurring THCH has only been identified in the cannabis strain FM2 , a variety found primarily in Italy. It is entirely possible that small amounts of THCH are also found in other strains; we just don't have the research to confirm or refute this.

Will THCH get you high?

Yes, according to user reports, vaping or otherwise consuming THCH will get you high.

The potency of this potent has not yet been precisely determined, but it may be similar to delta 9 THC. Some sellers claim that THC-H is anywhere from five to 25 times as potent as delta 9 THC, but no such claims have been scientifically confirmed. For new users, it is best to start with small doses and increase gradually.

The effects of THCH

Aside from the fact that it is intoxicating, we don’t know the details of its recreational or medicinal effects. Some users have claimed that it helps with pain relief and mood elevation – typical effects of most cannabinoids. More research is needed to show its full range of benefits, and currently, no research on its effects has been conducted on human participants.

THC-H compared to delta 9 THC

It is difficult to compare the effects of THC-H to delta 9 THC. While delta 9 THC has undergone decades of research, THC-H was discovered recently. User anecdotes account for most of what we know about the effects of consuming this potent. The difference in molecular structure lies in the length of each cannabinoid’s side chain. We await research to learn exactly how the alkyl side chain of THC-H affects its binding affinity and potency. Some claim that THC-H produces a stronger high than delta 9 THC, but this is purely anecdotal.

The difference between THC-H and THCP

It is easy to draw parallels between THCP and THC-H, but they have notable differences in structure. THCP has a longer side chain and can bind more effectively to CB1 and CB2 receptors compared to THC-H .

Can THCH show up on a drug test?

Cannabinoids like delta 8 THC – and probably THCH – are likely to show up positive in drug tests. Tests don’t look for the compound itself but rather its metabolites, which can be detected longer in the body. Drug tests can identify THC consumption up to several weeks and hair tests up to three months after use.

Is THCH legal in Sweden?
